A Clean Air Conditioner Cools Better and Saves Energy

Summer is in full swing and we have now been through our fist heat wave in the greater Twin Cities metro area. Unfortunately, this likely won’t be our last heat wave nor the hottest. A properly working and “well tuned” air conditioner is very important in Minnesota.

So, How Did Your Central Air Conditioning System Keep Up?

When both the humidity and the temps are high, that’s when your central air system gets put to the test. All it takes is for an air conditioner to be low on freon, dirty, froze-up, or malfunctioning in some other way and you quickly start to feel uncomfortable in your house.

As a professional heating and cooling contractor and also an air duct cleaning company, servicing the entire Minneapolis St. Paul area, we often are the first call homeowners make. When the temperatures start to climb and they discover that their air conditioner isn’t working the way it used to our phone starts to ring like crazy. Fortunately, we are prepared and jump into action as quickly as we can.

Are You Sure the Air Conditioner Needs Repair?

Maybe the air conditioner doesn’t need to be repaired after all. Oftentimes, the only problem is the outdoor condensor or the inside evaperator (a.k.a. a-coil) is just dirty and no repair is necessary. If that’s the case, we will clean everything up and be on our way in an hour or less. Cleaning the central air conditioning system and a good old fashioned duct cleaning will typically cost less than $100 unless your system is really dirty. In that case you might want us to use our rotary brush cleaning method and that takes a little longer.

Either way, cleaning your air conditioner and your duct work will cost you a lot less money than jsut letting it go and suffering through it. A dirty air conditioner works MUCH harder than a clean air conditioner. When the central air conditioner is working hard to keep up with the demand you have set on the thermostat you are wasting a lot of energy.

Schedule an Air Conditioner Cleaning Soon.

Rather than suffer and spend a lot of money on increased energy consumption, why not have you an air duct cleaning company come out, like CleanMyFurnace.com for example, :)  and do a complete air duct cleaning. And, if needed, we will clean your a-coil and your condensor. Air conditioning cleaning will generally pay for itself in energy savings, so why put it off?

If you would like to schedule either air conditioner cleaning, air duct cleaning or both, please give us a call at 612-412-1867. Our technicians are fast, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.

Twin Cities Air Duct Cleaning Procedure

Duct Cleaning – RotoBrush Method

Price $249.95 Special $189.00

  • Step 1. – Our technicians first attach a high powered vacuum to the main trunk line leading to your furnace.
  • Step 2. – Next, they go to each branch line and use a tool called an air-wand. The air-wand uses highly compressed air to push all the debris down to the main trunk-lines where the vacuum hose is creating negative-pressure to draw all debris to our van mounted equipment.
  • Step 3. – Once they have completed the initial air sweep, an item called a Rotary-Brush with a reverse nozzle will be used. It will be inserted into the trunk line where the brush will rotate inside the air ducts. This rotating brush “scrubs” the walls clean, removing anything that is stuck on, or otherwise attached to the walls of the air ducts. Once the ductwork has been scrubbed clean, they continue on to Step 4 using compressed air to pull the dust and debris that was removed from the side walls of the trunk lines and any other debris which might have been knocked loose with the rotary brush, back out to the vacuum using Step 2 mentioned above.
  • Step 4. – When the technicians have completed the initial air sweep and “RotoBrushing” the walls of the duct work, they will go to the bottom of the furnace with a 25-ft rotary air-wand, also known as an air-snake, with a reverse nozzle. This creates a tornado effect in the duct work, removing all residue from the sides of the air ducts. This will pull any remaining dust and debris back to the vacuum. The vacuum is “pulling” while the air-wand is “pushing” and it does a very effective job on light dust, dirt and debris.

If it has been a while since your air ducts were cleaned, you should definitely consider using the Rotary Brush Method. Unlike many of our competitors, we brush all your air vents and we clean all return lines and supply lines within your household.
