Is $99 Duct Cleaning a Scam – Read this First

This is one of the common questions out on the internet right today pertaining to air duct cleaning. Because of the low price, it only stands to reason that homeowners need to proceed with caution. After all, how can trained professionals arrive at your house, anywhere in the Twin Cities, in a well equipped tuck, work for 45 minutes to a couple hours and leave with only $99, right?

I know it sounds too good to be true but, let me explain. First, I assume you have already read about duct cleaning on this blog. If not, here are a few posts you might want to read first:

Whenever I am talking with customers that call in with questions about duct cleaning or to schedule a cleaning service I always ask them how long it’s been since they had their duct work cleaned. If they say last year, I don’t even bother asking them anymore questions. If they called in wanting the $99 deal that’s what I would recommend anyway.

If, on the other hand, they answer that it has been several years or perhaps never, I advise them to go with the rotobrush method. Here’s why; I am sure you have all seen the caked on grime that accumulates behind the refrigerator or stove, right. That “crud” is very similar to what adheres to the inside walls of your air ductwork. Imagine pulling the kitchen stove out and trying to simply vacuum it up. We all know that brushing or scrubbing is necessary.

The same holds true with duct cleaning. If it was just cleaned with a rotobrush last year, the $99 duct cleaning will most likely be adequate. But, if it has been a few years, I would strongly recommend the rotobrush method.

If you are ready to get on the scheule for either the rotorush method or the $99 air-sweep, give us a call at 612-412-1867, we would love the opportunity to showcase our work for you.

Duct Cleaning and Carpet Cleaning Read this First

We have seen a few carpet cleaning companies start to offer duct cleaning in the Twin Cities over the past few months. Sounds convenient, but is it in your best interest? At first glance, you might think it is a match made in heaven. the company comes out and cleans your carpets and will provide duct cleaning at the same time. Very convenient, right? Maybe not.

Our Air Duct Cleaning Equipment Fills the Service Truck

The first question I have is, knowing how much room our duct cleaning equipment takes up, how will they fit everything on their trucks? The next concern I have is are the carpet cleaners using the same equipment for both projects? If so, what type of system is it? You certainly don’t want water or steam in your metal ductwork!

Carpet Cleaners also Trained to be Duct Cleaning Technicians?

Our air duct cleaning technicians are well trained in cleaning air duct work and have worked along side skilled service technicians for a long time before they are allowed to become the lead duct cleaning technician. Who is training these carpet cleaners and how are they being taught?

Unless you ask a lot of questions, get a referral from a friend or neighbor, I would advise making two seperate appointments. That would hopefully be the case with the carpet/duct cleaning company anyway. I would like to think that they would schedule two different teams, one appointment to clean the carpets, the other to clean your air ducts. If that’s the case you have really gained nothing. Might as well just call the pros. Call 612-412-1867 to get on the schedule
