Have you ever thought…”I’m tired from all the improvement i just made to my house, why waste precious time and energy cleaning something like air ducts…?”
Ok, that thought may seem slightly exaggerated, but sadly enough, most homeowners either do not understand the importance of clean air ducts or they simply forget to have it done, which can be especially hazardous after a home improvement project.

Having dust particles float around in your air ducts can cause damage to your system, while keeping your air ducts clean can help extend the life of your system for years. When the ducts are covered with built up dust and debris the system needs to use more power in order to force the air through. This can result in needing to prematurely replace your system due to poor maintenance, which is not something that homeowners want to hear! . Also The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that removing as little as 0.4 inches of dust from cooling system coils will reduce your energy consumption up to 21 percent, putting more money in your pocket.

Along with the money you will save on your energy bill, cleaning your air ducts after home improvement also helps keep you and your family healthier. This is because if any moisture gets into your system, it could easily lead to the build up of mold. Even if there is no mold, your ducts could contain dirt, dust, pollen, animal dander, or really nasty things like insect remains or rodent droppings. Also, If people in your home have breathing problems such as asthma or allergies, all those things hanging out in your air ducts will only worsen things, and may increase the likely hood of you contracting an air-born illness.

This is just one of those unavoidable situations you will have to deal with as a homeowner. You could take the ‘purist’ route and cut back on your home improvements, get rid of sparky or any other animals, stop smoking (at least inside the house), and purchase the high-end air filters to improve the quality of air in your home. Although, simply making sure your air ducts are cleaned out every now and then is just one great way to improve the air quality. Also, air filters still allow tiny dust particles through and are not a truly reliable way to keep your air clean. The good news is that home maintenance is like a car, when taken care of properly it can produce many benefits and last a very, very long time.

To wrap it up, let’s review why regular air duct cleaning really is worth your time and energy

It produces a much finer quality of air

Extends the life of your system

Prevents illness

Recommended by most doctors

Kills pathogens

Great way to truly rid your house of any dust or debris after that great home improvement project,it really isn’t finished until you finish cleaning up right?

Makes dusting and cleaning in the future easier since your system can work more efficiently to help you

plus

cleaner smell in your house

you’ll impress your neighbors with how well you take care of your home

best of all, you can keep sparky around!

As the temps start to dip around Minneapolis, once again it’s time to think about cleaning your furnace.

Minneapolis Furnace Cleaning – it’s that Time of Year Again!

It’s already the first of September, wow! Where did the summer go? Soon we will be cranking up the heat and watching our utility bills climb. Sorry, but if you live in the Minneapolis Twin Cities area, it is unavoidable. Getting your furnace cleaned is an excellent way to conserve energy and save money on those utility bills. When your furnace is dirty, you are burning fuel in an inefficient manner. In a sense, your hard earned cash is going right out the chimney. If you live in the Twin Cities, annual furnace cleaning is a necessity.

In Addition to Minneapolis Furnace Cleaning, What About That Air Filter?

A dirty air filter simply makes your furnace breathe harder. To over simplify, imagine wrapping a thick scarf around you nose and mouth. In much the same way, your furnace has to draw air through the pleated filter and dust, dirt and debris. Our technicians will help recommend how often you should change your filter. A single person, who doesn’t smoke and has no pets will be able to change their filter less than a family of four with pets.

A lot of people have been asking if we provide ac cleaning and duct cleaning in Minneapolis and other areas on the west side of the Twin Cities. The answer is YES! While our two offices are located in Little Canada, MN and Stillwater, MN we do service the whole Minneapolis St. Paul metro region.

Twin Cities Duct Cleaning – West and Northwest

Our technicians generally take the truck home at night which means they can start out the day working around their home or end the day in their area. We have technicians from the Edina and Minnetonka area, as well as the Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park area. So for them to do duct cleaning and ac cleaning in Plymouth, MN or Richfield, MN or Blaine, MN is no problem at all.

Twin Cities Duct Cleaning – South and Southwest

In the South we have duct cleaners coming from the Burnsville, MN and Apple Valley areas. These technicians can easily service the Eagan, MN and Eden Prairie, MN territory providing duct cleaning in the whole south and southwest metro area.

Please keep in mind, that even if this were not the case, we could easily travel to anywhere in the Twin Cities. With the volume of duct cleaning appointments we run on any given day, there is always a service truck somewhere in your neighborhood.

Other Services Provided by Duct Cleaning Twin Cities

In addition to duct cleaning we also provide the following cleaning services:

Air Conditioner Vent Cleaning

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Furnace Cleaning

Chimney Cleaning (Chimney Sweep)

A-Coil Cleaning

Fireplace Cleaning

Wood Stove Cleaning

Much more…just ask!

So, whether you live in Minnetonka, Shakopee, Rosemount, MN or anywhere else in the twin Cities, we would be delighted to offer either our air conditioner cleaning or any of our other duct cleaning services. Please give us a call to get on the duct cleaning schedule; 612-412-1867. Thanks and see you soon.

This is one of the common questions out on the internet right today pertaining to air duct cleaning. Because of the low price, it only stands to reason that homeowners need to proceed with caution. After all, how can trained professionals arrive at your house, anywhere in the Twin Cities, in a well equipped tuck, work for 45 minutes to a couple hours and leave with only $99, right?

I know it sounds too good to be true but, let me explain. First, I assume you have already read about duct cleaning on this blog. If not, here are a few posts you might want to read first:

Duct Cleaning Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ

Duct Cleaning Twin Cities

Twin Cities Duct Cleaning Prices

Whenever I am talking with customers that call in with questions about duct cleaning or to schedule a cleaning service I always ask them how long it’s been since they had their duct work cleaned. If they say last year, I don’t even bother asking them anymore questions. If they called in wanting the $99 deal that’s what I would recommend anyway.

If, on the other hand, they answer that it has been several years or perhaps never, I advise them to go with the rotobrush method. Here’s why; I am sure you have all seen the caked on grime that accumulates behind the refrigerator or stove, right. That “crud” is very similar to what adheres to the inside walls of your air ductwork. Imagine pulling the kitchen stove out and trying to simply vacuum it up. We all know that brushing or scrubbing is necessary.

The same holds true with duct cleaning. If it was just cleaned with a rotobrush last year, the $99 duct cleaning will most likely be adequate. But, if it has been a few years, I would strongly recommend the rotobrush method.

If you are ready to get on the scheule for either the rotorush method or the $99 air-sweep, give us a call at 612-412-1867, we would love the opportunity to showcase our work for you.

We have seen a few carpet cleaning companies start to offer duct cleaning in the Twin Cities over the past few months. Sounds convenient, but is it in your best interest? At first glance, you might think it is a match made in heaven. the company comes out and cleans your carpets and will provide duct cleaning at the same time. Very convenient, right? Maybe not.

Our Air Duct Cleaning Equipment Fills the Service Truck

The first question I have is, knowing how much room our duct cleaning equipment takes up, how will they fit everything on their trucks? The next concern I have is are the carpet cleaners using the same equipment for both projects? If so, what type of system is it? You certainly don’t want water or steam in your metal ductwork!

Carpet Cleaners also Trained to be Duct Cleaning Technicians?

Our air duct cleaning technicians are well trained in cleaning air duct work and have worked along side skilled service technicians for a long time before they are allowed to become the lead duct cleaning technician. Who is training these carpet cleaners and how are they being taught?

Unless you ask a lot of questions, get a referral from a friend or neighbor, I would advise making two seperate appointments. That would hopefully be the case with the carpet/duct cleaning company anyway. I would like to think that they would schedule two different teams, one appointment to clean the carpets, the other to clean your air ducts. If that’s the case you have really gained nothing. Might as well just call the pros. Call 612-412-1867 to get on the schedule

Summer is in full swing and we have now been through our fist heat wave in the greater Twin Cities metro area. Unfortunately, this likely won’t be our last heat wave nor the hottest. A properly working and “well tuned” air conditioner is very important in Minnesota.

So, How Did Your Central Air Conditioning System Keep Up?

When both the humidity and the temps are high, that’s when your central air system gets put to the test. All it takes is for an air conditioner to be low on freon, dirty, froze-up, or malfunctioning in some other way and you quickly start to feel uncomfortable in your house.

As a professional heating and cooling contractor and also an air duct cleaning company, servicing the entire Minneapolis St. Paul area, we often are the first call homeowners make. When the temperatures start to climb and they discover that their air conditioner isn’t working the way it used to our phone starts to ring like crazy. Fortunately, we are prepared and jump into action as quickly as we can.

Are You Sure the Air Conditioner Needs Repair?

Maybe the air conditioner doesn’t need to be repaired after all. Oftentimes, the only problem is the outdoor condensor or the inside evaperator (a.k.a. a-coil) is just dirty and no repair is necessary. If that’s the case, we will clean everything up and be on our way in an hour or less. Cleaning the central air conditioning system and a good old fashioned duct cleaning will typically cost less than $100 unless your system is really dirty. In that case you might want us to use our rotary brush cleaning method and that takes a little longer.

Either way, cleaning your air conditioner and your duct work will cost you a lot less money than jsut letting it go and suffering through it. A dirty air conditioner works MUCH harder than a clean air conditioner. When the central air conditioner is working hard to keep up with the demand you have set on the thermostat you are wasting a lot of energy.

Schedule an Air Conditioner Cleaning Soon.

Rather than suffer and spend a lot of money on increased energy consumption, why not have you an air duct cleaning company come out, like CleanMyFurnace.com for example, and do a complete air duct cleaning. And, if needed, we will clean your a-coil and your condensor. Air conditioning cleaning will generally pay for itself in energy savings, so why put it off?

If you would like to schedule either air conditioner cleaning, air duct cleaning or both, please give us a call at 612-412-1867. Our technicians are fast, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.

Have you recently purchased a foreclosed home?

Whether you have just bought a foreclosed home or are considering buying one, air duct cleaning should be a part of your home clean-up strategy. Since you most likely don’t know much about the previous homeowners, you may want to play it safe and opt for a thorough duct cleaning.

We suggest the Roto-Brush for foreclosed house clean-up.

While you might be able to get by with a simple air sweep duct cleaning, we encourage yu to play it safe and spend the extra $100 or so and have your air ducts rotobrushed. This is the most thorough method and will remove much more of the contaminants from the heating and air conditioning system.

Clean the ducts BEFORE moving in to a foreclosed home.

Why wait? Be on the safe side and schedule duct cleaning before you move into a foreclosed home. With most professional air vent cleanng companies you should be able to have your air ducts cleaned within 1-2 days. At Twin City Duct Cleaning we are more than willing to meet you at the house at your convenience. If you live in the St. Paul, Minneapolis, MN area including all of the Twin Cities, call us for all the details: 612-412-1867. And congratulations on the purchasee of your new foreclosed home!
